First Time Lettering

I'm always fascinated with the lettering art done by many illustrators or graphic designers, and hope I can make this kind of art by myself. Finally, I made my first lettering of my name. 

I used Procreate on my iPad to create the lettering, and I found it actually quite easy to pick up. Following the steps by the teacher I could say I have understood more on the art of lettering, the difference between the typography, font and lettering, the knowledge and the tips to make beautiful lettering, and many more.

Now I have more knowledge about the types of letter which are san serif, serif, script, illustrative and many more. There are some homework for me to practice on how to start creating basic letters, as shown in the video below:

After I have enough warm up, I proceed with the lettering of my name - Charteenmint, using some elements in my design like illustration, ligature and a little bit of flourishes, the tips here is "Less is more".

Thanks to Gia Graham I have a smooth start on how to create my own lettering, although it's not perfect, but it's definitely a good start.
