What is zero waste store?



You may find this word unfamiliar, but it's actually a trend in old time.

Last time before the mass production of plastic, the packaging was organic.

For example, your grandma will bring her own basket or container to buy foods.

Not like what we are doing now, everything is in plastic packaging. It might be super duper convenient, but we need to pay the cost.

Due to the over use of the plastic, our landfill and ocean are overwhelming with the plastic products. Pollution is so serious and it's endangering our ecosystem. The burning of the trash also contribute to the warm house effect.

Zero waste store owner is trying their best to reduce the usage. All the foods and groceries are stored in glass jar or container.

When you visit to their shop you must bring your own container, they will weigh the amount you need and put inside your container.

Sound fantastic, right?

There are quite some number of this conceptual shop in Malaysia, think it would be easy for you to find them in google search.

My personal favorite would be A Bit Less Bulk Store located in Kepong, they sell many kind of items, from shower gel, foods, menstrual cup, tooth brush and a lot more.
