Vintage Lettering - Inspiration from Qin Dynasty
Practice of Lettering #1: Creating your very first own vintage lettering can be very easy. With the reference from the pattern of the old time, trace the pattern on my ipad (Procreate), but make some modification and change the color combination. I'm quite fascinated with the ancient Chinese words calligraphy in the Qin Dynasty (200+ years BC), so I make it as my reference for the lettering, the meaning of the words in mint green color is 'Give in to the destiny' ( 认命) . But I purposely put a white wording (vertical) above the green words, if combining the words means 'Never give in to destiny' ( 誓不认命) . It's easy to create this lettering because most of the time I just trace it, but it's good practice as a start. Will try to make my own vintage lettering soon. I learn some of the technique from Liz Kohler Brown, this link can access to her tutorial class in Skillshare with two month free for the premium account, which can watch as many classes as you w
